Some of these opinions have been formalized and are readily evident to most; others we have learned about through our audit support policy and in dealing directly with the IRS. Out of the six methods, the ENGINEERING BASED COST SEGREGATION approach is the ONLY METHOD that affords the client the opportunity to recover the most amount of money, and it is also fully supportable and defendable under IRS scrutiny. The other methods offer limited recovered capital and no protection from an IRS review or audit.
